Helping women see themselves in the Mirror of God's Love
Dear Leaders,
This Online Retreat is designed for your ladies to experience a warm, one-on-one encounter with themselves and with God. They will also have chances to interact with others in the group as they share thoughts and ideas from what they are learning.
If you choose to conduct this on a weekend, here is a sample schedule you could use:
Friday night, the ladies would watch the musical. The link to watch it on YouTube is provided on the website on The Musical page. Be sure to have a large enough screen available for viewing.
After watching, the ladies would need to be provided with pen and paper so they could journal their thoughts and feelings. Some may want to stay in the room and talk with one another or with leadership who would like to help. This musical is very raw, and its content brings up emotional issues for women coming out of abuse. After watching, the ladies may experience all kinds of feelings such as sadness, anger, fear, and even hope as they see a way out of their problems.
The next day would be divided into two sessions. They morning session would be a study on The 'C' Words. There are downloads at the bottom of The Studies page that would need to be printed out and given to the ladies. The Studies include thought-provoking writings, questions, and a place for the women to journal their thoughts and answers. Small group discussions are encouraged after each teaching has been completed.
The afternoon session would be conducted the same way as the morning session, this time studying The 'P' Words. Discussion is encouraged in this session as well.
The download entitled 'It Was a Summer of Many Deaths' is included on the site as an optional download that you could print and give the women for their own use.
The conclusion of these sessions would be up to you as a leader. You could just close if you like with a few words and let the ladies be dismissed.
